The tiles can also be pinned with the desktop in the side by side mode to navigate between open apps. For instance, the Email tile can be expanded to show a list of recent emails complete with a preview or the desktop tile can feature all running applications including legacy Windows programs. In one of the videos, he demonstrated interactive tiles that also act as notification dashboards of the application they represent and expand to reveal more data without the need to open an actual app. Gu demonstrates how interactive Live Tiles could be used beyond their present capabilities across different Windows and Windows Phone devices. ![]()
